Three Tennessee quirks worth remembering.
Bring photo ID
Tennessee requires a government-issued photo ID to vote — a TN driver license, TN state ID, passport, or military ID all work. College student IDs don't count.
Early voting is flexible
During early voting you can use any early-voting site in Shelby County — vote near work, near home, wherever's easy. On Election Day, it's your assigned precinct only.
No party registration
Tennessee voters don't register by party. In a primary, you simply choose which party's ballot to vote — so yes, you can vote in the Democratic primary.
